Official Plan Review

The City of Pembroke is undertaking preparation of a new Official Plan. An Official Plan describes the City's policies on how the municipality will grow, what will be protected, and how land in your community should be used. The Official Plan is prepared with public input to ensure that it reflects the community's values and needs.

An Official Plan deals with land use planning issues such as:

• • • Location of new housing, industry, offices, and shops
    • When, where, and in what order growth will occur
    • Services needed to accommodate growth

The intent of the project is to incorporate new policy direction following recent changes to provincial legislation into the Official Plan. In addition, it will consider local planning issues that impact your community as the new Official Plan will guide all municipal planning decisions.
