Paint with Sheila is back with another beginner-friendly masterpiece. Now entering its fourth year of business, Paint With Sheila continues to make fine art accessible to everyone across the Ottawa Valley.

Sheila is a professional artist and certified art teacher who is passionate about building community and inspiring creativity in all of her participants.

Paint With Sheila is more than just a paint night, it is an immersive and engaging artistic experience.

Here is the Painting that we will be doing. 

This workshop will be led by Heather Desormeaux, who will teach participants how to paint fall-themed bookmarks perfect for the cozy reading season. Heather will guide attendees through creating a series of small autumn-inspired illustrations to complete a set of take-home bookmarks. All materials will be provided, including ribbon or string for each bookmark. The workshop will be held in the Activity Room at the Pembroke Memorial Centre (PMC).

This workshop is led by Julie Hebert of Artsy Phartsy Ceramics. Participants will paint a beautiful Tealight Christmas Tree, with each piece reflecting their own creativity and unique design choices. This festive workshop is a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season while creating a handmade decoration to enjoy year after year.

During the class, participants will paint their tree, which will then be professionally kiln-fired. Once the firing process is complete, participants will be notified when their finished piece is ready for pick-up in time for Christmas.

A Brief History:

In 2019, Julie was introduced to pottery painting and fell in love. Having served in the Canadian Armed Forces, she has found that this hobby has allowed her to regain her focus and creativity while feeling momentarily free. In 2023, with help from family and friends, she started a small home -based studio where she can offer the same experience in the valley.

Artsy Phartsy Ceramics is a welcoming nature-inspired studio offering paint-your-own ceramics, workshops and creative experiences for kids, Families, veterans, and the community. It's a peaceful place to create, escape, and feel free. 

This is what we will be making. Your will look different based on your creativity!

This workshop is led by Yvonne Lux, owner of Stain in the Glass, a Pembroke-based studio specializing in glass fusing and mosaic workshops. The studio also features a small retail space offering glass art and supplies. During this session, participants will create a Glass Fused Holiday Ornament. You will work with COE 96 glass, which is designed to be fired at high temperatures in a kiln. Decorative embellishments used in the project are sourced from Croatia.

Just in time for the start of December, Sunset Nursery is going to host a Holiday Greens Workshop, where they provide all the materials and instructions on how to make your own Holiday arrangement!
