The County of Renfrew is joining with the Ottawa Valley Cycling and Active Transportation Alliance (OCATA) to encourage as many cyclists and walkers as possible to participate in this friendly competition between Renfrew County and Lanark County to inspire and promote more active and healthier communities.
Together with partners in Lanark County, they are inviting residents and visitors to compete for the most number of kilometers biked or walked over the month of June. They can register and record their daily activity
2018 is the sixth year that Lanark County has issued the challenge to Renfrew County. Last year, Renfrew County won the competition by a close margin.
From June 1 through 30, Lanark and Renfrew County residents can log their kilometres ¬ whether walking or biking, by going to www.silverchainchallenge.ca
A real-time bar graph of kilometres clocked will be displayed on the homepage of this website, showing which county measures up to being the most active. All walking and cycling data is displayed on the Stats page, inviting friendly community-to-community competition.
