This winter, we will be taking a trip down nostalgia lane and putting our own unique twist on a classic Christmas tale with Miracle on Pembroke Street. On Saturday, November 23rd at 5:30 p.m., the parade will transform Downtown Pembroke into a joyous commemoration of the Christmas season. The parade will begin from Moncion Metro and make its way through downtown to Festival Hall.
Based off the 1947 film Miracle on 34th Street, this year’s theme has so many options to explore. Participants can recreate iconic scenes and settings from the film, such as Macy’s flagship New York City store, the New York Post Office, the courthouse, and so much more! Taking a broader approach, other float themes can include creative takes on the idea of a “classic or traditional” Christmas based off of the film’s early post-war era setting. This could be conveyed through music, costumes, props, and scenery to name a few. We encourage all participants to get creative with this theme and think outside the box! Reminisce with blissful nostalgia as the dazzling floats light up Pembroke Street when this Christmas classic comes to life.
The Santa Claus Parade of Lights has always been a time of jubilation in Pembroke. We encourage all of Pembroke’s residents to come together as a community on November 23rd to enjoy the parade in all its great festivities. Join us this year as we turn Pembroke Street into 34th Street for a magical evening.
