The Pembroke Public Library announces Fall Short Story Contest
Pembroke Public Library is pleased to announce that beginning on October 15th 2018, there will be a Stories from the Valley short story contest.
This short story contest is open to all adults (18 or older) of Renfrew county and is looking at nonfiction stories of 1000-1500 words.
The theme is ‘Memories of the Valley” and stories should show the unique lives, events and characters that make up the Ottawa Valley.
Judging will be done initially by a collection of local readers, then further selected by an impartial group.
The names of the persons submitting the entries will have their name removed and given a number, so as to keep the writers anonymous to the judges. The three winners’ prizes will be sponsored by Burnstown Publishing.
Entries can begin to be submitted by the 15th October with the last date to submit on the 15th December 2018. Submissions will have a small fee of $10 with their short story.
Part of the fee will be used to publish the top 40 stories and the cost of administration.
The entire Rules and Regulations for the Pembroke Public Library Short Story Contest are available at:
