Invest in your Business

On March 1, 2018 the City of Pembroke is partnering with the Town of Petawawa, County of Renfrew, Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Renfrew County CFDC to host a 1/2 day conference for business owners and managers entitled Invest in Your Business. The event takes place from 11:30am - 4:30pm and begins with keynote speaker, author and business owner, Darci Lang. Then, throughout the afternoon, there will be various sessions on business support services and grants. In the evening from 7:00pm-9:00pm employees and the general public are invited to hear from Darci and her well-know speech: Focus on the 90%.

Pembroke Economic Development Advisory Committee

Formed in March, 2015, the Pembroke Economic Development Advisory Committee (PEDAC) provides input to the Planning and Development Committee of Council on matters pertaining  to business attraction and retention. Members meet on a regular basis with City managers to receive reports and studies, and to provide advice on matters that may impact the economic climate of Pembroke. Their role is fully outlined in the Terms of Reference that were established to guide their decision making processes.

BR+E Survey

In March 2017 the City of Pembroke announced that we would be undertaking a Business Retention and Expansion Survey to better understand the concerns and opportunities for our businesses. The survey will be focusing on manufacturers and employers with over 15 employees. The survey will be done with support from the Pembroke Economic Development Advisory Committee. Along with privately held land, the City maintains two industrial parks with land available from $10,000 per acre plus frontage. Lots are configurable and may be smaller than an acre parcel.
